One of Canada’s best known magazine editors has left the helm of Chatelaine to take a new position at Maclean Hunter Publishing.

Mildred Istona, an industry veteran who spent 17 years as Chatelaine’s editor, became editorial director, new magazine development, Sept. 12.

Jim Warrillow, president of Maclean Hunter Publishing, says he hopes, with Istona’s appointment, to bring a sharper focus on the evolving marketplace as it relates to new magazine opportunities.

Lee Simpson, publisher of Chatelaine, says the announcement of a new editor for the magazine should come before the end of the year. DC
