The Canadian Marketing Association has appointed Doug Brooks as its new president and CEO.

Brooks, who will take on the new role July 6, will replace John Gustavson, who is resigning after more than 25 years leading the association. Last fall, Gustavson announced he would be retiring in 2015.

Brooks was most recently CEO of the Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA Ontario). He was previously director of marketing at Coca-Cola Canada (where he held other marketing roles prior), general manager of media sales and marketing at CBC and managing director at NHL Enterprises.
