Toronto-based Federal Express has just launched a summer promotion, automatically giving customers who ship internationally the chance to win a prize draw in the fall.
The prizes to be given away are: three trips for two to the Grand Lido in Negril, Jamaica; 10 Toshiba Notebook Computers; 100 Bulova watches; 40 weekends at ITT Sheraton Hotels across Canada; and 1,000 limited edition Roots sweatshirts.
The promotion is entitled ‘Our Waybill Could Help You Get Away Bill.’
Cathy Hepburn-Schroeder, manager of advertising and direct marketing at FedEx, says the strategic thinking behind the promotion is to reinforce the idea that ‘with FedEx you have peace of mind.’
The contest, which runs June 29 to Sept. 19., will be supported by advertising on tv and radio, in newspapers, and in a variety of out of home media.
Most of the advertising support activity leading up to the Oct. 13 draw will take place in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
The promotion was developed by Vectra Marketing Group of Richmond Hill, Ont.
