Michael Wilson, minister of industry, science and technology and minister of international trade, has named seven companies as finalists in the marketing category of the 1992 Canada Awards for Business Excellence.

The companies are: Connaught Laboratories, North York, Ont.; Fountain Tire, Edmonton; Garaga Doors (2000), Saint-Georges, Beauce, Que.; Grenico, Quebec City, Que; Larcan Communications Equipment, Mississauga, Ont.; N. Yanke Transfer, Saskatoon; and Weatherhaven Resources, Vancouver.

In all, 39 firms were named as finalists in eight categories.

Up to three winners in each category will be chosen and honored at an awards ceremony to be held Oct. 28 in Ottawa. PA
