Hodge gets TSN program

one of Canada’s best-known sports reporters has his own show on tsn beginning Nov. 2.

Dave Hodge, whose straight talk has cost him a couple of broadcasting jobs and brought him a certain amount of notoriety, will host TSN Inside Sports, a half-hour weekday show that promises to go beyond the scores and the highlights.

Based in The Sports Network’s studio in Toronto, Hodge will be able to use resources from around the world for his program.

Hodge began reporting in 1965 for The Daily News in Chatham, Ont.

The next year, the Montreal native moved to a Chatham radio station, then on to Toronto where he was on air for more than 18 years, becoming something of a fixture on Hockey Night in Canada on cbc-tv.

Hodge began his tv career in 1970 doing play-by-play for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.

He has since done network and regional coverage for other nhl teams, and radio and tv for the Canadian Football League. DC
