Christie Brown has named British-born Robert Hall as its new president.

An experienced packaged-goods marketer, Hall was most recently employed as vice-president of cheese products by Kraft General Foods in the u.s.

Before that, he spent several years with the Canadian division of Kraft, holding posts in Montreal and Toronto.

Ray Verdun, president and chief executive officer of Nabisco Brands, Christie Brown’s corporate parent, has been acting president of Christie Brown for the last year.

- Windsor, Ont.-based Chrysler Canada has appointed Bob Frank as its new vice-president of marketing.

Frank succeeds Thomas Marinelli, an American citizen who has returned to the u.s. to work for the parent company in Detroit.

- Compaq Canada has appointed John Boyle as its director of marketing.

Toronto-based Compaq’s marketing was formerly handled by its parent company in the u.s.

- Ramada Franchise Canada has named Peter Dhama as director of marketing and sales, responsible for the Ramada brand.

Dhama, who has 17 years experience in marketing and sales, returns to Ramada after an absence of seven years.

- 3Com Canada has appointed Gus Malezis as general manager, responsible for the company’s sales, marketing and engineering activities.

Malezis, who joined 3Com in 1989, was formerly technical services manager.

Richmond Hill, Ont.-based 3Com designs, manufactures, markets and supports a wide range of networking systems.

- LMG Reliance has named Gordon Wright as marketing manager, consumer brands.

Winnipeg-based lmg, a part of the Lawson Mardon Group, markets camping gear and leisure products worldwide.

Leanna Wilson has joined National PharmaCom of Toronto as senior consultant.

Wilson comes to the healthcare division of National Public Relations from Toronto’s St. Michael’s Hospital where she held the position of director of public relations and marketing.

- At Communicaide Marketing Services of Oakville, Ont., Wendy Sharp has taken over as account co-ordinator two years after joining the firm as front office administrator.

Heather Barber, formerly with Core Media of Toronto, has filled the post of front office administrator.

Kerry Mitchell is the new director of marketing for WHERE Magazines International.

Mitchell joins where from the Southam Newspaper Group where she was manager of business development. She has also worked for The Toronto Star, Chatelaine magazine and The Financial Post.

The English-language where magazines are published in 21 cities including New York, Paris, London, Chicago and Toronto.

- Laurie Morris is the new promotion manager for Toronto-based CB Media.

Previously promotion co-ordinator at CB Media, Morris’ new duties include increased responsibility in sales promotion, event management and media relations.

Before joining CB Media, Morris worked for cbc tv as a publicity assistant and as communications co-ordinator for ‘The Word On The Street,’ the outdoor book and magazine festival in Toronto.
