This year’s Maggies, Magazines Canada’s annual awards for excellence in magazine advertising, honored seven different advertising agencies for creating ads for products ranging from beer to faucets.

The campaign winner was Toronto-based MacLaren: Lintas for its ads for Molson Breweries.

Honorable mention in that category went to SMW Advertising for its advertising for Lexus, Toyota’s luxury car division, with a certificate going to Chiat/Day Advertising for its Canadian Airlines ads. Both are Toronto agencies.

The winner in the fractional category was Toronto-based Ogilvy & Mather for its advertisements for Bick’s Pickles from Robin Hood Multifoods.

A fractional category honorable mention was picked up by Toronto-based DDB Needham Worldwide for its Volkswagen Canada ads.

In the single winner category, Toronto-based J. Walter Thompson came out on top for its ads for Lever Brothers’ Wisk.

Franklin Dallas Advertising, of Toronto, took a certificate of merit in this category for its Rubinet Faucets advertising. DC
