Verdon, who was previously president and ceo of Nabisco’s Canadian grocery business, replaces Ellen Marram, who has been hired by Seagram Distillers to run its u.s. Tropicana unit.

ú After the retirement in March of its senior vice-president, Ross Robinson, Honda Canada has announced a number of new appointments in its executive suite.

Jim Miller, formerly vice-president of marketing, becomes senior vice-president, auto sales and marketing.

Dennis Manning, formerly senior manager of public affairs, becomes senior manager, marketing and communications.

Terry Green, formerly manager of public relations, becomes manager of Honda advertising.

And Scott Murray, formerly manager of motorcycle public relations, becomes manager of communications and events.

ú Moosehead Breweries of Dartmouth, n.s. has appointed Gerry Guitor as brand manager, responsible for Moosehead Beer nationally and Moosehead Light and Moosehead Pale Ale in the Maritimes.

Guitor replaces Rick McCallum, who has moved to Ontario and is now national marketing manager for The Imported Beer Company, based in Mississauga.

ú Teknion Furniture Systems has announced two new internal appointments.

Allan Jackson, formerly a major accounts representative, has been named manager, business development: Teknion Bank System.

And Michela Cesari, who formerly worked in a design capacity in the company’s trade show business, has been named interior designer, new product applications.

Mike Collins has moved from McCann-Erickson Advertising to Foote Cone Belding while keeping the title of vice-president group creative director.

Collins was with Foster Advertising for two years before his four-year stint with sister shop McCann-Erickson working on the Goodyear, Nestle and Unilever accounts.

He started his career with a six-year run in radio production, moved into the agency business with five years at Vickers & Benson Advertising and had his own radio production company for three years before joining Foster.

At fcb, Collins replaces Rob Barlow who has started his own consultancy and will be working for fcb clients Molson Breweries, General Mills and Nestle.

ú John Li, senior art director, is the newest addition to the creative department at Weaver Tanner & Miller in Kitchener, Ont.

Li, a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif., has held positions at Vickers & Benson Advertising, McKim Advertising, Nathan Fraser and Langmuir Mangialardo.

ú Kim Dunn has joined FCB Direct  Montreal as director, English creative to work with senior art director Guy Tasse.

Dunn was most recently senior writer at Allard/SMW, Montreal.

Also at FCB Direct, Joelle Namer has been promoted to senior account manager from account manager and is responsible for the direct marketing needs of Air Canada/CIBC Aerogold and Aeroplan.

ú Natalie Miller has signed on as project manager at Health Care Communications, the Mississauga, Ont. affiliate of Health Care Communications of Fort Lee, n.j.

Before joining the firm, Miller was communications co-ordinator at The Arthritis Society’s National Office in Toronto.

Susan Howard brings 10 years’ experience to the post of production co-ordinator.
