Salter de Gruchy has picked up more business from Toronto-based fashion wholesaler and retailer ETAC Sales.

The newest client for the Toronto agency is Brettons, a chain of nine fashion department stores bought by etac in March of this year.

A Brettons relaunch is scheduled for September, with event management, promotions and public relations to be handled by Special Assignment, the pr and event marketing arm of Salter de Gruchy.

- Promanad Communications of Mississauga, Ont. has been named agency-of-record for the Toronto-based chain of Magicuts haircare outlets, an account valued at $1 million.

Magicuts has 200 franchised and corporate-owned locations in North America, 164 in Canada.

- In Montreal, two new accounts recently signed on with Auger Babeux FCB.

Dim International of Montreal, the Canadian operation of the France-based manufacturer of women’s lingerie and stockings, has put the agency in charge of its national advertising, both French and English.

A new campaign is expected this fall. Dim has traditionally used tv and print advertising.

Auger Babeux will also be handling media planning and buying for Quebec Loisirs, the largest book club in Quebec, with more than 320,000 members.

- Bausch & Lomb Canada has added Montreal-based Taxi to its roster of agencies.

After a review of five agencies, Taxi has been given responsibility for Clear Choice Mouthwash, a new product that does not contain alcohol.

The business will be serviced by Taxi’s Toronto office.

Clear Choice will be launched later this summer with a creative approach different than that used to introduce the product in the u.s. last year.

Media duties will be handled by Media Buying Services, Toronto.

McCann-Erickson Worldwide takes over the (u.s.) $30 million Cathay Pacific Airways global account on Sept. 1.

The Vancouver office of McCann will be key in handling the $1 million Canadian portion.
