Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising has a new media head

Peggi Gross, the long-time occupant of the post, has shifted to the newly-created position of business opportunities manager.

Bruce Baumann, associate media director since 1988, becomes the new vice-president of media.

Gross says that in her new role she will do full time what she has been doing most of the time for more than a year.

Gross, whose former title was senior vice-president, media director, says she will concentrate on solving client problems by developing new ways for them to reach customers. PS

Gross says those programs could involve anything from alternative media, such as in-store, to videos, couponing and promotions that do not use media at all.

The Beef Information Centre and ICI Dulux are two Saatchi clients that have recently benefitted from this new business approach.

Gross will be expanding this service outside the agency.

Bruce Baumannm is now heading the media department as vice-president, media director.

Baumann has been with Saatchi for 12 years and associate media director since 1988.

On Baumann’s agenda is the restructuring of the department so a senior level staff member works on each account and increasing the use of Saatchi’s worldwide media resources for Canadian clients.
