Trimark Investment Management has a new program under way to reach women who may want to invest in mutual funds.

Called ‘Appreciating Your Worth,’ the program includes general personal financial information with some emphasis on managing risk and getting financial advice, issues of particular concern to women.

Susan Sharp, marketing manager at Trimark, says the company has used Toronto Star and Globe and Mail ads to promote Appreciating Your Worth in the Toronto area.

So far, says Sharp, Trimark has received 500 calls from the 1-800 number in the daily newspaper ads.

Callers to the toll-free number can receive a free 28-page book containing worksheets, a financial advisor evaluation, a glossary, a q&a session, and more.

More daily advertising is planned and in September the campaign will go national, says Sharp, with ads in Canadian Living, Chatelaine, Saturday Night, Vancouver magazine and Western Living.

Sharp says seminars and personal follow-ups are also being conducted in Toronto, as they will be nationally come September.

She says depending on the amount a new investor deposits with Trimark, the company will make a donation to the Genesis Research Foundation, which works on women’s health issues.

Last September, she says, Trimark was one of the sponsors of ‘Friends of Gilda,’ a tribute in Toronto to the late actress Gilda Radner.

Radner was an original cast member of the Toronto production of the1960s musical Hair. She died of ovarian cancer.
