American Standard has handed its advertising assignment to Robins Sharpe Associates of Toronto, after an extensive agency review.

Toronto-based American Standard makes plumbing fixtures in facilities in Toronto and Cambridge, Ont.

- Air Canada is consolidating all of its worldwide passenger advertising with Marketel (formerly Marketel/Foster/McCann-Erickson) of Montreal. The u.s. assignment will move from New York-based McCaffrey & McCall, effective Oct. 1.

Marketel already handles the account in Canada, the u.k. and Europe. Air Canada has been working with Foster Advertising and its subsequent affiliates since 1962.

The air carrier’s cargo advertising and direct marketing in Canada are handled by FCB Direct.

- Marshall Fenn Public Relations & Advertising will be managing all public relations, promotions and advertising for the 1993 Toronto International Auto Show, the 20th anniversary edition, after a review of six agencies.

It will be the sixth consecutive year that the Toronto agency has had the assignment.

The Toronto International Auto Show is owned and presented by the Toronto Automobile Dealers Association, which represents 300 car dealers in the greater Toronto area.

Cineplex Odeon patrons buying specially marked Coca-Cola soft drinks in theatres across North America have a chance to win one of several all-expense-paid trips to the star-studded opening of Planet Hollywood in London this fall.

Planet Hollywood’s international expansion plans also include restaurants in Berlin, Tokyo and Cancun, Mexico.

There are 1,659 screens in 384 Cineplex Odeon locations in North America.

- The Montreal operations of Publicite Day and Austin Knight Canada recently merged under Day Advertising Group Management as Publicite Day.

Day Advertising Group is a Canadian-owned recruitment advertising agency, which also has offices in Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Privately owned Austin Knight has 21 offices in six countries, specializing in recruitment advertising, selection and employee communications.

These changes were announced at the group’s recent annual meeting by new wact President Barbara Martindale, director of member services for the Canadian Community Newspapers Association.
