Miller Myers Bruce DallaCosta has been chosen to launch Ambra personal computers for ExperComp Services of Markham, Ont.

ExperComp, a subsidiary of IBM Canada which was formed last month to market Ambra to the small business and home office markets, plans to have 10,000 units available across Canada at the end of August.

Distribution agreements have been signed with Merisel Canada of Concord, Ont. and Hartco of Montreal.

Ambra computers are already being marketed in France and England.

Compensation for Marbury

marbury Advertising has been signed for a three-year term by the Ontario Workers’ Compensation Board.

The account, valued at $450,000 annually, calls for a wide range of paid media and public information programs.

MRD becomes Healthcom

pharmaceutical and healthcare agency Marr Reynolds Doubt has joined forces with Saatchi & Saatchi Canada to become part of Saatchi’s international Healthcom network, formed this past February.

Daniel Marr, president of Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcom, says the degree of ownership has not been made final.

Healthcom will operate from the mrd location in Mississauga, Ont.

Shops picked for anti-tobacco program

vickers & Benson Advertising and Public Good Social Marketing Communications will be working in tandem to discourage the use of tobacco by young people.

The two Toronto agencies won the competition for the $2-million Ontario Ministry of Health Tobacco Strategy assignment with a joint submission.

Marketel makes it official

The $150,000-a-year account is for a three-year term starting Aug. 1.

The assignment consists mainly of statutory information-style ads with some image advertising and includes media buying.
