Name is for holding company

your July 12 article ‘Trustco changes name’ makes a misleading statement which we think should be corrected as soon as possible.

The trust company operations of Royal Trustco will not, as the article suggests, ‘now operate under the name Gentra.’

Recognizing the value of a respected household name, Royal Bank of Canada is purchasing rights to the Royal Trust name along with its trust operations.

To avoid future confusion, Royal Trustco’s board found a new name for their holding company – hence, Gentra.

After the Royal Bank deal is finalized, the trust business will continue under the name Royal Trust. Its former parent company will continue as Gentra.
