medinex, a research-based pharmaceutical firm located in Montreal, is launching an ad campaign for its over-the-counter smoking-cessation aid, Tabanil.

Dr. William Najjar, founder and primary researcher for 21-year-old Medinex, says he will run self-produced tv, radio and print ads to support new mouthwash and spray versions of Tabanil, which is also available as a lozenge.

Tabanil, which has been on the market in limited distribution for several years, contains no nicotine.

Rather, it promotes smoking cessation by inducing a gagging sensation in users who smoke within several hours after taking it. PA
