CTV has just completed the second in a series of 30-second commercials positioning the broadcaster as Canada’s Big Event entertainment network.
As with last year’s first commercial that featured a young girl walking in a field and coming upon a giant video wall showing sports events and movies, ‘Big Event II’ allows the network to once again showcase its big tv events.
Arthur Weinthal, vice-president, entertainment programming at ctv, says that amid today’s expanding multi-channel universe, the private broadcaster still gathers huge audiences for coverage of big ticket movie and sports events and its nightly newscast.
The commercial not only highlights upcoming programming, but the production process becomes, in itself, an event as ‘behind the scenes’ crew scenes appear in the action.
