Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto is targetting the children’s market with a Canadian version of Kid Think, a division started by sister company Griffin Bacal of New York three years ago.
Kid Think already has two Canadian clients, food product manufacturer E.D. Smith and another that wishes to remain nameless.
New products
gbv’s assignment for each client is to develop and market new products for children.
Kid Think will be headed by account supervisor Beth Pearson out of New York.
A new Toronto account director is expected to start with the firm next week.
GBV Toronto has also added two other new units: Kid Focus, a research division, and Licensing Works!, a licensing group that is not restricted to the children’s market.
To accommodate the new divisions, gbv will be moving to larger quarters at the end of the month.
gbv has been handling the toy accounts of Hasbro, Milton Bradley, Playskool and Tonka for Kenner Parker Tonka Canada since Paul Phelan & Perry merged with Griffin Bacal, which has the u.s. business, last January. PS
