Roche tops MARCEES awards

Geoffrey B. Roche and Partners was the big winner at this year’s marcees awards held recently in Toronto.

The Toronto ad agency scooped up awards of excellence in four categories at the annual tribute to retail advertising.

In all, 14 awards of excellence and 14 awards of merit were presented.

Geoffrey B. Roche won for Integrated – Chain, for Ikea ‘Summer 1993′; Television – Chain, for Standard Optical ‘Differentiating on Attitude’; Newspaper – Chain, for Ikea ‘Expanding the Range Perception’; and Magazine – Chain, for Braddock Optical ‘How I See.’

Other awards of excellence were presented for the following categories:

- Integrated – Entrepreneur: Herranco Design for Westminster Credit Union ‘Rate Hiker RRSP Campaign.’

- Television – Entrpreneur: The McGill Agency for Place D’Orleans ’1993 Spring Campaign.’

- Newspaper – Entrepreneur: KARO Design Resources for Orchard Park ‘We’ve Grown it Just for You.’

- Direct Mail – Chain: Leo Burnett Advertising for Bell Canada ‘Home Office.’

- Direct Mail – Entrepreneur: KARO Design Resources for Northland Villages Shoppes ‘Direct Mail.’

- Radio – Chain: JW&R Advertising for Guardian Drugs ‘Health Tips.’

- Radio – Entrepreneur: Gee Jeffery & Partners for Sporting Life ‘Lost Mind.’

- Outdoor – Entrepreneur: The Metrick System for Elte Carpets & Home ‘Person on Toilet.’

- In-Store – Chain: Evans Group Advertising for Starbucks Coffee Company ‘Beverage.’

- In-Store – Entrepreneur: Benkris ‘Tablescape ’93′ (no agency.)
