Sweet deal for Lowe S.M.S.

After a four-month search, Ferrero Canada has chosen Lowe S.M.S. (formerly Deacon Day and Scali McCabe Sloves) to handle advertising for its stable of five confectionery brands: Rocher, Mon Cheri, Nutella, Tic Tac and Kinder.

Ferrero has been handling advertising in-house for the past five years using European and u.s. creative.

Alan Cosman, who joined Ferrero Canada as president and chief executive officer last September, says the decision to move to a Canadian-selected agency is part of a larger developmental process for the company.

Cosman says new tv commercials for several of the brands will be on-air this fall.

Ferrero International, the third-largest confectionery company in the world, has its headquarters in Brussels, but was started in Italy in the 1950s. PS
