Toronto-based men’s clothing chain Moores The Suit People has hired The Saffer Group to handle its advertising.
Moores did some tv advertising in the mid-1980s, but, since then, has relied heavily on its flyers, 18 per year, which it directs in-house.
A radio campaign is now under way in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, and tv is expected to follow this fall.
Moores operates 87 corporate-owned stores across Canada
It opened two stores earlier this year, and will open five more in the fall.
The company started as a manufacturer of men’s clothing about 40 years ago and began its retail chain in 1980.
Rob McCaig, Moores advertising manager, says the company has made it through two recessions because during those times it continued to advertise.
