Patricia Bowles, a senior vice-president with MacLaren: Lintas and a former partner in MacLaren Advertising, has left the agency after more than 13 years and is moving to Vancouver to open a corporate and public affairs office for Westcoast Energy.

Bowles will be setting up a separate corporate affairs office for the Vancouver-based gas utility and pipeline company as director public and corporate affairs.

Bowles was responsible for public affairs at MacLaren as managing director of the agency’s public relations arm, The Martland Group.

– The creative department of Vickers & Benson Advertising, Toronto, has added Philippe Garneau as copywriter and Lynn Fletcher as vice-president of strategic planning.

Garneau was most recently senior copywriter at Chiat/Day, Toronto, where he worked on accounts such as Nissan, Canadian Airlines International and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Before Chiat/Day, he held senior creative positions with Doyle Dane Bernbach and Campbell Ewald (Lowe-Goodgoll), both in Toronto.

Since 1992, Fletcher has worked as a consultant with Research Management Group in Toronto for clients such as Labatt, Ault Dairies and Atlantis Films.

She began her agency career in 1980 with a three-year stint in the media department of Ogilvy & Mather in Toronto. She moved to o&m’s London office, where she was an account planner for three years before returning from overseas to O&M, New York.

After a year in New York, she returned to O&M, London for another three years to develop strategic plans for u.k. and European clients.

– David Innis has joined Miller Myers Bruce DallaCosta of Toronto after less than a year with J. Walter Thompson.

As senior writer, Innis has been teamed up with Isobel Moutrey on Royal LePage, Sony and adt. Innis started in the advertising business in India in the mid-1970s and ran his own agency in Bombay before moving to Canada in 1989.

From 1990-92, he was with MacLaren:Lintas in Toronto, where he worked with Larry Gordon on Molson and Ciba-Geigy, including award-winning campaigns for Ciba-Geigy’s Otrivin.

– Carl Jones has been named senior creative director at BBDO Mexico City.

Jones left Vickers & Benson Advertising of Toronto in 1992 to move to Grey Advertising Mexico City to work on the Procter & Gamble business.

He joined Ogilvy & Mather Mexico City a year later to be regional creative director on Pond’s.
