The following is a belated reaction to your May 16 editorial and the special edition Strategy did on Terry O’Malley.

I was delighted to read all of the tributes to Terry.

No one in Canadian advertising history deserves the recognition and the appreciation of the industry like Terry does.

He is the standard by which others in the industry should be judged, the example everyone should aspire towards.

He’s the quintessential Canadian. Smart. Modest. Loyal. Honest. Respectful. Trusting. Respected. Responsible. Humorous. Quiet. Shy. And good. Very, very good.

He’s a terrific friend. We’ve known each other for almost 35 years. First, as fellow employees. Then, as competitors.

For these and many other reasons, I was delighted that your publication gave Terry the recognition he deserves.
