Rubbermaid Canada has promoted its vice-president of sales to president and general manager.

Bradley replaces Carol Troyer, who came to Canada from Rubbermaid in the u.s. two years ago.

Troyer has been transferred to Tennessee as president and general manager of Office Products division.

- Dell Canada of Toronto has tapped Ray Lancashire as manager, marketing communications.

Lancashire, who has spent the past 14 years in high-technology communications positions, replaces Susan Rennie, who recently left the firm.

Before joining Dell, Lancashire was marketing communications manager for the Canadian software company Speedware.

Before that, he was manager, communications, ISM Information Systems Management.

- Unitel Communications has appointed Judy McLeod as vice-president, consumer operations.

McLeod was previously the general manager of long-distance operations in Unitel’s consumer marketing division.

She replaces David Lewis, who resigned just over a month ago as senior vice-president and general manager of Unitel’s consumer services unit.

Also assuming some of Lewis’ former responsibilities is Carol Adolf, who has been named the acting vice-president of consumer marketing.

- As part of a reorganization of its Canadian operations, Quebecor Printing has named Gordon Griffiths to the newly created position of Canadian president.

Griffiths was previously Quebecor Printing’s group president for Central and Western Canada, as well as for its telephone directory division.

Under its new corporate structure, Griffiths will be responsible for the company’s operations across the country.

Also coming out of the reorganization was the appointment of Gary Forget as vice-president of marketing.

Forget was previously director of human resources.

Both appointments were effective Sept. 26.

- Ikea Canada has a new head of marketing, effective today.

Ola Lindell, director of marketing with the Burlington, Ont.-based retailer for the past 2 1/2 years, has been transferred to a similar post in Germany.

Lindell’s replacement is Joakim Gip, who comes to Canada from Stockholm, where he worked as a marketing manager for a large European clothing retailer, and, more recently, as an account executive with an ad agency.

Research:

Compas, a research firm focussing on opinion-leader research, has hired a specialist in public opinion research as a senior partner in its Toronto office.

Margaret Buhlman, who spent the past 13 years with Decima Research, most recently as executive vice-president, joined Compas Sept. 12.

Buhlman worked on a range of accounts with Decima, among them Ontario Hydro and Air Canada.

She says her arrival at Compas signals the firm’s intention to broaden its focus to include general market research.
