Toshiba of Canada has launched a line of tvs to continue the offensive on the high-end tv consumer market that it started with the development of the flat screen in the early 1980s.

In its ‘See the future’ advertising, Toshiba promotes its new FST Perfect technology, claiming it gives ‘the flattest screen… the perfect picture.’

‘The technology delivers richer color, and better corner-to-corner clarity than other flat screen tvs,’ says Craig Macklem, director of marketing and advertising at Toshiba.

FST Perfect technology is available in three tvs, two of which are part of Toshiba’s Cinema Series line.

The Cinema Series is distinguished from other Toshiba tvs by featuring Dolby Surround sound and a four-channel digital sound processor.

Toshiba is advertising its new products on billboards across the country, in major newspapers, and in general interest and audio/video specialty magazines.

Its agency is D’Arcy Masius Benton and Bowles. AB
