With an eye on one of Toronto’s fastest growing communities, Tele-Direct (Services) and Ming Pao News intend to issue a Chinese Yellow Pages in July.

Tele-Direct is a subsidiary of Tele-Direct (Publications) in Toronto, publisher in Ontario and Quebec of 108 phone directories and 238 Yellow Pages directories for Bell Canada.

Ming Pao is published daily in Toronto and Vancouver, the two Canadian cities with the largest number of Chinese households.

The Chinese Yellow Pages will have a section with classified headings in Chinese, a section of White Page listings of Chinese households in the greater Toronto area, and a community interest section.

The Chinese Yellow Pages’ targetted distribution is 75,000 copies.

Jimmy Hung, general manager of Ming Pao Newspapers (Canada), says the new directory will be a milestone, bringing together the Chinese and mainstream markets and providing tremendous value to marketers. DC
