Chiat/Day of Toronto has hired Norris Blaxall as director of integrated marketing to provide the strategic direction needed to integrate the agency’s advertising, direct marketing, promotions, and event marketing disciplines.
While Blaxall will be working with clients and account directors, Michael Griffiths has been promoted to associate creative director to focus on the creative side of integrated marketing.
Both Blaxall and Griffiths have strong direct marketing backgrounds.
Blaxall was most recently vice-president and partner of Cohn & Wells of Toronto where he worked with Stentor, Bell Canada, Royal Trust, Borland and Delrina.
Before that he was manager of direct response and credit card loyalty programs at Royal Bank and managed Air Canada’s direct marketing and Aeroplan programs.
Griffiths, with c/d for the past two years, was formerly creative group head overseeing the agency’s direct response programs, but has, in preparation for his new role, been involved in developing several fully integrated programs.
Prior to joining c/d, Griffiths was senior copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather Direct and, for five years before that, was a freelancer working for clients such as Novotel, General Motors and Hewlett Packard. PS
