– Reckitt & Colman Canada has consolidated its business with Toronto agencies Cossette Communication-Marketing and Stringer Veroni Ketchum Advertising. Cossette has been named media agency of record, and creative, previously with Leo Burnett, of Toronto, will be split between the two agencies for brands such as French’s, Wizard, Lysol, Easy-Off, Sani-Flush, Zero and Neet.

– Hershey Canada has moved media buying for its $6-million-plus business to Harrison Young Pesonen & Newell from Media Buying Services.

– Corby Distillers of Montreal has hired Harrod & Mirlin of Toronto to handle creative. Media Buying Services keeps the media buying assignment, estimated at $4 million.

– Okanagan Spring Brewery of Vernon, b.c. has hired Quay Strategies of Vancouver as its public relations agency.

– Dyad Systems, a Vancouver-based software developer, has named The Communications Group of Toronto to handle marketing communications and investor relations.

– The Department of Finance assignment for the Government of Canada retail debt products, including savings bonds, has gone to the team of Vickers & Benson Advertising, of Toronto, and Groupe Everest, of Montreal. The incumbents were Everest and The Gingko Group, of Toronto, which was on the short-list in addition to Wolf Advertising/RTA Pub and bcp.

– Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts, Ontario region, has chosen the chain’s corporate agency, Harrod & Mirlin, of Toronto, to handle its account, while the Alberta region recently went with karo, of Calgary. Both assignments were previously with former corporate agency, BBDO Canada.
