CCTA plans media campaign to boost image as network

The Canadian Cable Television Association is planning to launch a multi-million-dollar campaign this fall to bolster its presence as a network of cable companies.

The association has hired The Gingko Group of Toronto and Groupe Everest of Montreal.

The theme of the campaign has not been decided, but the cable tv association would like to use the campaign as a framework to roll out new services, improve subscriber communications and educate the public about cable services.

The Canadian Cable Television Association has 700 system members (a system is a licensed area) from 75 cable companies, including Rogers Communications and Shaw Communications.

There are 2,000 cable systems in Canada. PS
