Palmer Jarvis DDB cleaned up at this year’s Advertising & Design Club of Canada (ADCC) awards.

The Vancouver-based agency’s hardware count included five gold awards, for TV work on behalf of Nearly Naked Lingerie and St. John Ambulance.

PJDDB was the only multiple gold winner at the Directions 2000 show, held in Toronto on Nov. 9.

Other golds went to: Gee, Jeffery & Partners in the cinema category, for work on behalf of the Ontario Toyota Dealers Association; Bryant, Fulton & Shee in newspaper, for The Spy Store; Roche Macaulay & Partners Advertising in magazine, for Ikea Germany; BBDO Canada in billboard, for Jeep; Leo Burnett in TV, for Kellogg Canada; and Cossette Communication-Marketing in the miscellaneous category, for work on behalf of Ron Fehling Photography.

Bensimon*Byrne D’Arcy also shared a gold with Cybersight in the integrated branding category, for the Molson Breweries ‘I AM Canadian’ campaign and Web site.

Stephen Blair, president of the ADCC, says this year’s panel of international judges clearly favoured work that had strong, simple ideas and was ‘more cutting-edge culturally.’
