marketing for small

businesses

As a result of their recent agreement, Edmonton-based Intuit Canada Limited and Davis + Henderson of Toronto are promising to help small businesses in Canada develop direct mail campaigns – at a fraction of the usual time and cost.

The deal between the two companies creates QuickBooks Target Marketing Service, an online direct mail application (www.quickbooks.clickcustomemail.com) designed to make DM easier and more affordable for small businesses, offering them the opportunity to reach existing or potential customers for roughly $1.19 per piece versus $5 to $7, according to the partners.

The new online resource provides a range of over 400 industry-specific, professionally written templates which can be quickly customized to develop a variety of letters, coupons and surveys. Small businesses can also upload their own mailing lists or rent targeted lists.

A personal coupon campaign can be created in 20 minutes, say the companies, versus up to 18 hours that some small businesses spend doing it themselves.

Direct response radio and outdoor

ad service launched

EWireless Canada Corporation of Toronto recently announced a new direct response service it hopes will help radio and outdoor advertisers speak directly to interested consumers and track actual results.

The company has created a way for mobile consumers to respond directly to radio and outdoor advertisers by dialing #333 on their wireless phones. The call is toll free and airtime free to the consumer.

The service is currently being launched in 15 cities across Canada including Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Kitchener, Ont., Toronto, Montreal and Halifax, and is available from all major wireless providers throughout Canada and the United States. Companies introducing #333 into their advertising have the ability to track responses on a secure and confidential Web page. They will only be billed per customer response.

Advertisers who have signed up to use the service, which is available in French or English, include: ADT Security Services Canada, American Express, Charles Schwab Canada and General Motors Canada.
