American Express Incentive Services has named Stevi Hanson as account VP of sales at its Canadian operations in Markham, Ont.

IO-TEK, an Edmonton-based, multicultural application service provider, named Tim Carruthers as VP, business development.

Panago, a pizza franchise based in Abbotsford, B.C., has promoted Sean DeGregorio from VP operations to CEO. Panago has 140 locations in Western Canada.

Pleasanton, Calif.-based PeopleSoft, has hired Canadian Nanci Caldwell as senior VP and CMO, where she will provide marketing direction to accelerate the company’s growth in the eBusiness application market. Caldwell hails from Hewlett-Packard, where she worked for 19 years, most recently as VP, marketing.

Two 20-year media industry veterans have teamed up to establish a new media planning, buying and consultancy company. Julie McIlroy was formerly managing partner and Julie King was group media director, buying, at Mindshare Canada. Their new Toronto-based firm, is named McIlroy & King Communications.

Toronto shop Leo Burnett recently announced several changes: Edith Boyland and Lisa Morch, director of broadcast business and director of knowledge management respectively, have been named VPs. Also: David Moore, who will continue to run the Montreal office, was promoted to the newly created position of executive VP, GM, in charge of new business, acquisitions, new service offerings and the overall client service function; Michael Wood, formerly of the Global Network, has signed up as executive VP, managing director and will oversee day-to-day operations, business development, planning, Leo Interactive, Leo Promotions and Leo Direct; and Chris Pastirik was promoted to VP, group head.

Vickers & Benson Arnold, Toronto, hired Michael Davidson as VP, marketing & business development. Meanwhile, Arnold Brand Promotions, a new arm of the agency, officially opened for business this month. Rob Grumbach has been promoted to VP and GM for the new division, which already counts Sprint Canada and Monster.ca as its clients. The branch aims to develop and execute promotions, sponsorships and special events based on core insights related to the brand and the consumer.

Tam-TamTBWA and Francois Sauvé, its VP and CD have mutually parted ways. Meanwhile, president Pierre Laramée and Brigitte Mittelhammer, VP of client services, remain partners of the Montreal agency, along with the TBWA International Network. Laramée will act as interim CD, until a replacement is found.

Encore Strategic Marketing, Toronto, promoted Jennifer Lukas to VP, events.

MacLaren Momentum, a Toronto-based sports and entertainment event marketing firm, recently appointed Susan Faragher as account director.

Matt Scholes has been promoted to GM at J. Walter Thompson, Toronto, where he will oversee day-to-day operations.

Toronto’s Axmith McIntyre Wicht has established a new creative team. Brian Collinson, who joined the shop last year from Communique Group, is its new art director, and Dale Roberts, who hails from Taxi Advertising and Design, is its writer. The duo will work on the Labatt Value Brands, Toronto Works and Tourism Ontario accounts, among others. Meanwhile, the boutique has also named Mike Sipley as art director, where he will work on Labatt Wildcat, Labatt Genuine Draft and TSE. Sipley was most recently with DCC Communications.

Interbrand Tudhope, Toronto, has hired Jeffrey Swystun as director, strategic planning & marketing.

Media Vest Worldwide, Toronto, has named Aaron Wills as a planner.

Vancouver-based R Group, which specializes in strategic marketing programs for real estate projects on the West Coast, named Lynn Harrison account manager.

Leslie Krueger is Teletoon’s new director of promotions. Krueger has over 12 years of agency experience, including a stint as VP, group media director at BBDO OMD.

Vancouver’s CityXpress.com, which integrates online content with ad and promotional products for media companies, has named Steve Cissel as director of media sales.

Globe Interactive, which operates the globeandmail.com site, has named Gary Anderson senior VP, business development.
