Wolford America, a creative manufacturer of luxury products for leg and body wear, has appointed Lesley Diana as manager of its Vancouver branch.

Jo-Ann McArthur has been appointed president of Molstar Sports & Entertainment (a division of Molson Breweries) for the Ontario/West region, and will also continue in her capacity as Molson’s VP of marketing assets.

Canadian Web communications company Sympatico-Lycos has named Jean-Philippe Gauthier as general manager of Sympatico.ca’s Montreal-based French portal. He previously worked as director of Sympatico’s Tools & Wireless division, for both the English and French portals.

Air Canada in Montreal has appointed Stephen Smith as president and CEO of its low-fare carrier to be launched later this year. Smith has more than 20 years of experience in the airline industry, and has worked for other discount airlines including WestJet Airlines.

DCC Communications in Toronto has hired Greg Trinier, as senior art director and Tracey Rudolph as an account executive. Trinier was previously with Gee Jeffery & Partners while Rudolph worked as a freelance marketing planner. Sarah Gratta who joined DCC in 1999, has been promoted from account supervisor to account director.

Chris Williams has been promoted to director of interactive marketing at Toronto-based vbdi, a division of Vickers & Benson Arnold. He takes on responsibility for online marketing.

A specialist in marketing to kids, tweens and teens, The Geppetto Group in New York, has appointed Amy Henry as account supervisor. She previously worked at Leo Burnett in Chicago.

MaxxMedia in Toronto has appointed Irene Corke as VP, group media director. Previously with Genesis Media, Corke will take on the Volkswagen account among others. Lisa Hudson has been promoted to associate media director from media manager. She also takes responsibility for the Volkswagen account. Also at MaxxMedia, Julia May has been promoted to media supervisor from media planner/buyer.

Vickers & Benson Arnold in Toronto has appointed Sarah Dann as copywriter. Dann previously worked at the same agency as creative manager.

Global marketing communications firm The GEM Group has added six staff to the creative team at its Minneapolis office. Brian McConnell, Shari Bell, Sharon Walsh, Lea Sorenson, Kathleen Scott and Suzanne Brill will all be working for clients including General Mills and Sears.

Diane Wysocki has been named VP, general manager of Publicis Dialog in Toronto, a division of Publicis Canada. Wysocki brings a wide range of customer relationship marketing experience, from industries including financial services, entertainment and pharmaceutical.

Lisa de Wilde, president and CEO of Montreal-based Astral Television Networks (ATN) will leave the company on Sept. 14 after more than eight years at the helm. She plans to pursue other interests.

Starz Encore Group, a subsidiary of Liberty Media, has promoted Mike Hale from his current role as SVP of marketing and business development, to EVP and chief marketing officer. He will be based in Englewood, U.S.

Diane Quinn has been appointed the new executive director for the Toronto chapter of Women in Film and Television. Quinn was most recently general manager/producer for Soulpepper Theatre Company and the artistic producer for Festival of Classics.

American Express Publishing’s Travel + Leisure, based in New York, has appointed Jennifer Barr as deputy editor. She previously held the position of deputy editor of Hearst’s Harper’s Bazaar.
