Zellers Inc. and Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto are calling it quits at the end of the year. A closed review of selected agencies is currently underway for the estimated $15 million account. O&M, the Zellers agency since spring 1998, is not taking part in the review. A new agency is expected to be named by mid-November. David Strickland, Zellers’ SVP marketing, says he is looking for the right communications strategy to reinforce his company as a good choice for consumers. He says the overall goal is to ‘shake it up and look at things differently, so you get a completely fresh perspective.’ Zellers, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hudson’s Bay Company, operates a chain of 350 stores.
