Calgary-based of e-finance solutions provider, Alterna Technologies Group, has named J.R. Clemens as VP of global sales. He was previously VP sales with Consonus.

Starcom Worldwide in Toronto has added several new positions to its management group. Jeff Marchand and Michele Beaulieu join as chief strategy directors. Donna Smith will become Starcom’s out-of-home investment director and Mariam Hoosen joins as print investment director. Steve Meraska takes the role of director of business development.

Accumark Promotions Group in Toronto has recruited Nicol Kalman to its senior account service team. She brings six years of strategic development and promotional experience, having worked with Coca-Cola both client- and agency-side.

Catherine Ryan joins Toronto’s MediaVest Worldwide (Canada) as a media supervisor after a stint with Maxx Media. David Stout joins from CTV Sportsnet as a media research analyst, and Bates’ Katherine Hicks arrives as a media support manager.

Judy Brossmann has been promoted to manager of partnerships and advertising, while Joely Dercola steps up to the role of manager of sponsorships and promotions.

CHUM Television International in Toronto has promoted Lisa Wookey to the position of director of marketing and client services. She will be responsible for managing worldwide promotional and marketing activities.

John Voiles has been hired as regional sales manager for CKVU13 and The New VI, based in Vancouver and Victoria. He was most recently local sales manager for BCTV/ Global Television.

News Canada has promoted Charlene Nadalin from national account manager to VP of TV and radio.

Toronto’s Weddingbells, has appointed Alison McGill as editor-in-chief. McGill was formerly editor-in-chief of Salon Magazine.

Kathy Gardner joins Can West Media Sales in Toronto as VP of integrated media research. Previously, Gardner was EVP, director of media operations at Bates Canada.

New York-based ACNeilsen Media International has appointed Lorraine Hadfield as managing director of its North American operations. Among her duties, she will oversee the company’s media research operations in Canada, including television audience measurement and advertising information services.
