Late last year I was shocked to find AdCritic.com shut down, a victim of high bandwidth and low income. All that remains is a placeholder begging for a helping hand from someone, anyone, perhaps one of the giant corporations that benefited immensely from the free exposure and cult status they received from the countless downloads (Molson, Bud, I’m looking at you).

Months later there is still nothing. No one is willing to recognize what AdCritic did for advertising. They turned 30-second spots into mini movies perfect for proliferation over the Net and fueled more than one viral marketing campaign.

AdCritic.com was a friend to the advertising industry in Canada, the States and worldwide. It was a tool, a focal point for our craft and was simply a great place to spend time on the Net.

Now it is our turn to be a friend and do everything that we as advertisers, agencies and marketing publications can to bring AdCritic.com back.

(Re: Viewpoint, Strategy, Feb. 25/02) Hallelujah! Thought I was the only one awake here. They must still run approvals through old Walt. Cryogenic technology has its limitations.

Thanks for airing this out.
