Peter Montopoli has been named CEO of The Skating Events Trust. Montopoli will head the business unit of Skate Canada which plans, manages and executes the sponsorship and event management operations of Skate Canada.

Mary Sells has joined Toronto-based promotional products supplier Aware Marketing Group as VP of sales and marketing. She brings nearly 20 years experience in the industry.

Neil Fedun, VP of marketing for The Bay, has departed the company. Gord Sonnenberg, SVP of stores at The Bay, is filling the marketing post.


Toronto-based Myriad Marketing has appointed Craig MacPherson to the new position of GM. The company’s reorganization also sees Myriad president Chris McCarten assume the role of CEO.

Catherine McIntyre has been appointed to the newly created position of president, ICOM Information & Communications. In her 17-year career, McIntyre has worked with Procter & Gamble and taught at Humber College before joining ICOM.

Scott Pinkney and Dean Maruna have both been appointed to the position of VP CD at FCB Direct’s Toronto office. Pinkney and Maruna, founders and former partners of Mosaic Direct, will work with all existing FCB Direct clients, and will pursue business development opportunities.

BIMM Communications in Toronto has hired Dave Nourse as account director. Prior to joining BIMM, Nourse worked for Toronto’s ICE, Sprint USA in Dallas and Nortel Networks.

Starcom Worldwide has hired Cindy Horvath as broadcast investment manager. In addition, Michael DiGiovanni joins as IP manager, Angie Matchett joins as strategy planner, and Tony Pucci becomes broadcast buyer for the Toronto-based media company.

A new creative team has been selected at Toronto’s Zig. Jennifer Wilson and Rosalinda Graziano join the Zig roster after working together for three years on such brands as Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup, Burger King and pregnancy test Clear Blue Easy.

Andrea Cook has joined Toronto-based Rapp Collins Worldwide Canada as account supervisor. She will manage accounts such as Pfizer’s VIAGRA, Purolator Courier and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

Toronto-based HWB Marketing Communications has hired Sean McKee as an agency architect member of its Business Builder team. Sean brings 10 years of client-side marketing and product management experience in the IT sector to the table.

MC Direct + Healthcare has promoted Lori Culum to account director and Ava Irani becomes a junior account supervisor in its Toronto office. Irani worked as a marketing/advertising & sales representative at Tree-o Marketing and as a graphic artist at Wotherspoon Graphics. Culum’s previous positions were at State Farm and Chuck E. Cheese.


Sun Media has appointed Cheryl Phillips as VP of corporate sales development. Cheryl has held sales and management positions at the Globe and Mail, Metroland Printing, Publishing and Distributing and Thomson Newspapers.

David McGee has joined Pattison Outdoor Advertising as the newest member of the retail sales team.


Vancouver-based CRM software provider Pivotal Corporation has appointed former Oracle executive Jesper Andersen to the post of EVP of products. Andersen has more than 13 years of experience in the technology industry and helped build, launch and lead Oracle’s first venture into Web services.

Toronto-based Gold Points Rewards has appointed Rick Morrison as VP and GM. He has previously held senior positions with Park Productions, Aris Isotoner and Harvey Woods Hosiery.
