Former Sprint president Andy Krupski has been appointed as the new president and managing partner of Toronto-based Genesis Media. Most recently, Krupski was president and CEO of Redline Solutions, an application solutions company. He has also been president and CEO of JWT Advertising and later Grey Advertising.

Toronto-based Quadrant Marketing has hired Jeffrey McBain as president. McBain brings over 20 years of experience to his new post; he held a variety of positions with companies like Southam and The Toronto Star.

Montreal’s Marketel has appointed Claude Foisy to the position of VP of client services and account manager for Rogers AT&T and Maybelline. Foisy has 20 years of experience in marketing and nearly 15 in telecommunications. He began in 1984 at Procter and Gamble, and has since held several executive-level positions at companies like Bell Mobility and Rogers AT&T.

Critical Mass has appointed direct marketing expert Art Graddon as VP, client services. Graddon comes to the Calgary-based agency and Web site developer from Indicia Direct Strategies, his own consulting firm specializing in the integration of online and offline direct marketing and brand communications planning. Previously Graddon was SVP at Ogilvy & Mather in Calgary.

Internal communications firm Audience has beefed up its team in Toronto by grabbing some creatives from Mosaic Group. Beth Hanna-Ross joins as CD/business development while Nick Kindler and Paul Bremner become CDs. Tim Ferguson has been named associate CD. Meanwhile, Leslie Caton-Ewins joins as account director/business development.

Brown Communications Group has added to its Calgary account services team with the appointment of David Ford and Jordan Biegler. Ford brings over six years of business development and communications experience along with expertise in the agriculture, sports marketing and government sectors. Biegler has shifted roles within Brown from traffic and production co-ordinator to account co-ordinator.

Brandy Nowlin has joined Vancouver-based Wasserman & Partners Advertising as a strategic supervisor. Originally from Fort Worth, Tex., Nowlin has worked at that city’s Stuart Bacon Advertising and Public Relations and most recently was account supervisor at Copeland Communications in Victoria, B.C.

DCC Communications in Toronto has promoted two people and hired another. Marcia Thompson, formerly of Anderson DDB in Toronto, joins the agency as an account director. She has worked for several large international agencies, including BBDO Canada and Leo Burnett. In addition, Shannon Fostka moves from account co-ordinator to account executive and Mack Kitigawa has been promoted from executive co-ordinator to account manager, international accounts.

Onyx Marketing Group has promoted three people within its Toronto office. Ira Baptiste is now director of client services, while Charlene Politano and Robert Levy have each been made group account director.


Corus Radio Toronto has brought on Murray Johns as the new director of sales. For the past six years, Johns has been the general sales manager for Q107 Classic Rock and AM640 Mojo Radio.

Weber Shandwick Canada has hired Elizabeth Margles as SVP, in charge of its Canadian healthcare practice. The PR firm has also hired Lorraine Doherty as a VP in its Toronto consumer practice. Both were plucked from Hill & Knowlton.

Toronto-based Media Profile has added two new faces to its team. Janet Lee joins as director, client service and Susanne Gossage has been appointed account manager.

iContact Communications has promoted Ana-Maria Mosoiu to senior consultant. She has been with the Toronto-based firm since November 2000.
