In the story ‘Shakeup in Vancouver’ (Strategy, Aug. 12/02, p. 12), incorrect viewership data supplied by CTV appeared for BC CTV news.

The story wrongly stated that according to BBM data, the 6 p.m. newscast had grown its viewership by nearly 700% from spring 2001 to spring 2002, with the audience increasing from 9,500 viewers to 75,800.

In fact, based on the 2+ demo, Vancouver Extended Market area, and Monday through Sunday time period, the average-minute audience for BC CTV News at Six was 15,600 during the period from March through May 2000, and the news program’s average minute audience increased by only 146% – to 38,400 – for the same period in 2002 (Source: BBM microTV).

Strategy regrets the error.
