Wooden keepsake mailers

Given my role here, I open every DM piece that comes my way - however intriguing, or not, the creative is. So it's always interesting to see new formats and ideas that actually compel me to open.

While I didn’t actually receive it, I thought the following was an interesting, practical – and fairly inexpensive – case in point. Last month, according to a report in dmnews.com, MA-based Sullivan Creative sent out 4.75-by-6.5-inch wooden postcards. On one side, the postcards, which were part of an ongoing effort to generate new business, contained some text, a content name and number, Web site and e-newsletter info. The flip side featured a painting that could be hung or placed on someone’s desk – thereby keeping Sullivan, in this case, ‘in front of the target’ for an extended period of time. The cost per wooden postcard mailer? Less than $2 plus postage.

Cheers, BJ
