The 2002 Canadian Marketing Association Awards Gala celebrates 32 years as a recognized hallmark of excellence in high quality, results-oriented marketing in Canada.
Once again, this year a record number of entries were received, demonstrating that the CMA Awards continue to be a coveted and prestigious symbol of marketing success. Evolving with the ever-changing marketplace, this year the CMA Awards were expanded to cover the full spectrum of measurable marketing and communications disciplines. Several categories were redesigned and three new categories added – Brand Advertising, Public Relations and Sales Promotions – allowing for a wider scope of participants to enter.
While only a select few will be honoured, we can all recognize and take pride in the remarkable campaigns that are produced by Canadian marketers. Your dedication, talent and skill in producing dynamic and innovative campaigns are an inspiration to the entire marketing industry.
On behalf of the Canadian Marketing Association, I would like to congratulate all the winners of the 2002 CMA RSVP Awards. I would also like to thank our more than 120 judges, chaired by Goodwin Gibson, vice-president & general manager, Blitz, Toronto. This group of marketing experts accepted the difficult task of evaluating the record number of entries in 29 categories on the basis of bottom-line results, marketing concept, design, production and overall presentation. As well, I would like to express our appreciation to the chair of the CMA RSVP Strategic Planning Committee, Robert Morgan, executive vice-president and general manager, BRANN Worldwide, whose creativity and hard work helped to bring us this year’s Gala evening.
