Martha Nelson has been named VP of marketing and corporate communications at London, Ont.-based Trojan Technologies. Nelson has managed corporate marketing initiatives for the water disinfection expert.
Shawn Septon joins Toronto-based Rethink Breast Cancer as national marketing and communications manager. Septon previously held several positions at Brunico Communications, including account manager, sales for Strategy magazine and was most recently a marketing associate.
Bernadette Bell has been appointed category manager for the Interplak and Conair brands, part of health and beauty product manufacturer Conair Consumer Products of Brampton, Ont. Bell has several years of marketing experience in the personal care and home environment categories.

Robert G. Beauregard has been named an additional director on the board of Quebec City-based Cossette Communications Group. Beauregard currently heads his own communication and marketing consultancy, The Beauregard Group, in New York, N.Y.
The Young & Rubicam Group has named Grant Fraggalosch co-CD of Y&R’s Vancouver operations. Fraggalosch, who previously worked for MacLaren McCann West and Rethink, replaces Christopher Heatherington, who left this summer.
Debra Renaud has been promoted to VP for Toronto-based Northern Lights Communications Group. Renaud was previously director of client services. Alison Gordon has been appointed marketing communication co-ordinator.
Thom Antonio has been named managing director of Karacters Design Group’s new Toronto office. Antonio was recently the managing director of the Watt Group. Vancouver-based Karacters is the design division of Palmer Jarvis DDB and the new office is located in the PJ DDB Toronto office.
Kristin Vekteris has been promoted to account supervisor on the Toyota account at Toronto-based DCC Communications. Vekteris was previously account executive.
Denise Russell-Dominguez has been named strategy supervisor for Toronto-based Starcom Worldwide Canada. Previously, Russell-Dominguez held the position of media manager at Axmith McIntyre Wicht.
Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell of Toronto has hired three individuals: Emina Baotic has been named strategic account manager on the Dove Family account; Sylvie de Chevigny has been appointed strategic account manager for several accounts including Home Hardware and Hershey; and Susan Robb becomes tactical account manager for Unilever.
Blitz Direct, of Vancouver, has added new marketing team members: Bonnie Giles joins as account director, Chris Goward-Burns becomes account co-ordinator and Adrian Dar Santos becomes senior production manager.
Enterprise Creative Selling of Toronto has created two new positions and has named Jonathan Ritter business manager and Leila Bates as project co-ordinator. Ritter will work on the Toronto Star and McCormick Canada accounts, while Bates will increase efficiencies for all client print projects at Enterprise.
Bill Reilly has been named account executive at Windsor, Ont.’s HarrisDouglas Strategic Marketing. Reilly was formerly account executive for the Chum Television Group’s The New WI.

Mirabel Palmer-Elliott, director of brand marketing and integration for Chatelaine and Chatelaine.com, will join the Rogers-owned Today’sParent.com in the coming weeks.
Richard Bridgman has been named retail sales manager for the central region of Oakville, Ont.-based Pattison Outdoor Advertising. Bridgman has been in the out-of-home media business for three years.

Jacques Duval, president and CEO of Montreal-based Marketel, has been appointed chair of the Institute of Communications and Advertising. This marks the first time the ICA chair has hailed from Quebec.
