Peter L. Amirault has been named SVP business development and innovation for Montreal-based Molson. Amirault has held positions with Sleeman Brewing & Malting and Perrier Group of Canada.

Alan K’necht has been named technical business strategist for Toronto-based New Home Buyers Network.

AGENCIES

At Montreal-based Marketel, Sylvie Assingo has been promoted to VP, client services and Caroline Gagnon has been named VP, director media. Assingo joined Marketel in 1996 and Gagnon was hired in 1991.

Simon Creet and Simon Duffy have been appointed associate CDs at Toronto-based TBWAChiatDay. Creet and Duffy have been one of TBWA’s senior creative teams for almost two years. Meanwhile, Andrew Skuja and Debra Sharp have been named CRM associate CDs in TBWA’s directive and interactive portfolio.

David Bonner and Matthew Litzinger have been promoted to associate CDs at Toronto shop Gee, Jeffery and Partners. Bonner and Litzinger were previously senior creatives.

Toronto-based Leo Burnett has announced several appointments. Kristi Karens has been promoted to group head from account director and Zahida Virani has been named account director from her previous role as account supervisor. Meanwhile the agency has added two teams to its creative group: Kathryn Nassr joins as art director and Morgan Cummins joins as copywriter, while Veann Leps and Raul Garcia join as copywriter and art director respectively.

Jeff Bacon has been appointed director, project management for Vancouver-based MASEV Communications. Bacon was previously the customer relationship management strategist for Intrawest Corporation.

Scott McPherson has joined FCB of Toronto as group account director for the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership business. McPherson comes from Vickers & Benson Arnold where he directed the Canadian Tourism Commission account.

Akiyo Hattori has joined Toronto-based Axmith McIntyre Wicht as account supervisor. Hattori was most recently with MacLaren McCann.

Hellin Marketing of Toronto has appointed Arturo Torres as senior art director on the Scotiabank, Xerox and ACE INA Insurance accounts. Torres previously worked for ThinkStreet in Austin, Tex.

June Sinclair has joined Toronto-based Davis Display & Event Productions as a senior account executive.

Teresa Guarascio has been promoted to media director at Vancouver-based The Media Company. Guarascio was previously media manager.

AMW Direct of Toronto has promoted Kathleen Sloan to account director. Sloan has been with AMW Direct since 2000, and most recently held the position of account supervisor.

MEDIA

Paul Robertson has been named president of Toronto-based Corus Entertainment’s television businesses and Nelvana in a newly combined business unit. Robertson was previously president of YTV.

Freeman White has been promoted to VP sales development for Toronto-based Clear Channel Outdoor. White has been with Clear Channel since October 2000 as business development manager, electronic media.

Tom Kerr has been named manager of News Canada’s Vancouver office, responsible for business development in Western Canada. News Canada supplies feature news to newspapers, radio and TV across Canada.

Annick Major joins Toronto-based Teletoon as marketing manager. Major was previously national account director for Montreal’s NewAd Media.
