Philly’s original angels get their due
I’m writing in regard to the article about Canadian ads going global ‘Philly Angel: The heavenly touch’ (strategy, June/05.) There was a glaring but unintentional omission in the credits for the Kraft Philly Cream Cheese ‘Angel’ campaign.
I’d like to apologize to the creative team that did the original spots. I’m embarrassed to say that we made the mistake of sending strategy creative credits for the most recent spot while the work of that original team was (and continues to be) the catalyst for hundreds of spots done by Kraft and JWT in over 35 countries around the world.
The campaign started in Canada in 1994. It won a Gold Bessie in 1995 and the credits as recorded in the Bessies Award Show book are as follows:
