The Globe steps out for LG Fashion Week

In a highly targeted sponsorship deal, the Globe and Mail is promoting its Globe Style section during LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris in Toronto.

From March 28 to April 1, the newspaper will be handed out for free at Fashion Week events and the newspaper will provide daily reviews of the week at mircrosite TGAM.ca/style.

The newspaper will also be getting front-page placement at high fashion retailer Holt Renfrew as part of its co-sponsorship of the retailer’s ‘Holt Renfrew Can’t Live Without Canadian Fashion’ event Monday March 28. The Globe Style logo is featured on the retailer’s famous window displays as part of the promotional plan and the section is being promoted through an in-store display of Canadian designers.

The Globe and Mail has also created a ‘keepsake’ issue of Globe Style for inclusion in the event’s swag bags.

‘Globe Style is to fashion what a beautiful handbag is to a style maven,’ Andrew Saunders, VP, advertising sales, the Globe and Mail, said in a release. ‘The Globe‘s official newspaper sponsorship of LG Fashion Week evolves our commitment to our readers and advertisers, and Fashion Week guests and Globe readers will be entertained and inspired in the week ahead in print and online.’

LG Fashion Week takes place in Toronto, Ontario, from March 28 to April 1.

In other Globe and Mail news, the newspaper relaunched its Globe Life website today, featuring seven main sections and over 300 subsections, as well a new mobile app, Facebook page, blog series and e-newsletter.
