Bertram to head TBWALatin America

The horizon just got sunnier and busier for TBWACanada president Jay Bertram. TBWA Worldwide has added a second presidential remit to his title, putting him in charge of TBWALatin America as well as Canada.

‘Jay understands the TBWA network,’ says Tom Carroll, president, CEO, TBWA Worldwide. ‘He’s done an outstanding job rebuilding Canada and he has a great relationship with the Latin America leadership.’

The agency runs 18 offices in the region, which service some of its key global clients like Visa, Pernod Ricard, Nissan and Mars. Bertram, who will continue to serve as president of TBWACanada, is succeeding Gerard Govaerts, who held the position since 2009 and, in his role as a member of the agency’s executive committee, will support Bertram during his transition.

‘With the recent additions of Jack Neary and soon-to-arrive Julia Foster, Marcus Evans in Toronto and our strong Montreal team that includes Huges Choquette and Martin Sansregret, I am ready for my next challenge,’ said Bertram in a release.

Bertram arrived at ChiatDay back in 1989 as an account director, quickly being elevated to co-managing director responsible for new business. He left in 1995 to join Cossette, but returned to TBWA in 2002 to build the Toronto office.
