Cossette grows by six

Cossette is bolstering its creative team with six new hires, including award-winning creative director Chad Borlase.

Borlase, former CD at digital agency Kolody, and former co-CD at Bos,  has worked on accounts for Fido, HomeSense and Honda.

Joining Borlase will be copywriter Peter Gardiner and art director Kenneth Fothergill, formerly of Cundari and Publicis respectively, as well as  copywriter Sebastian Lyman,  formerly of Taxi, and interns Robin Soukvilay and Duncan Collis.

The team reflects a diversity in backgrounds, seniority and specializations, say co-CCOs Matt Litzinger and David Daga.

“We’re trying to cross-pollinate in the hiring process,” says Litzinger. He points to Borlase as a perfect example of this, having specialized in digital, but with a strong background in other forms of execution, something Litzinger says he hopes elevates the rest of the team.

Daga says they hired a balance of junior and senior members specifically to bring different outlooks on brands: the senior hires will have the big-brand experience, while the junior members of the team will bring fresh perspective.

“They’ll [all] be expected to think more broadly,” says Litzinger. “[But] we like the mix of opinions that we added to an already opinionated group.”
