Winners announced for 2012 NYF International Advertising Awards

Now in its 55th year of honouring the “World’s Best Advertising,” the New York Festivals International Advertising Awards has announced its 2012 winners.

A total of nine awards were picked up by Canadian ad agencies. Bleublancrouge, BBDO Toronto and Leo Burnett Toronto went home with Silver world medals. Bronze went to Sons and Daughters Productions and BBDO Toronto for two of its entries. The agency also went home with a finalist certificate, along with Toronto-based Evidently and Montreal-based Zip Communication.

Winning entries for the awards were selected by the NYF Executive Jury, an elite group of worldwide chief creative officers, through five rounds of live judging. Award winners were selected from a shortlist chosen by the grand jury through two rounds of online judging. The grand jury is comprised of over 400 chief creative officers, executive creative directors and industry professionals.

The NYF 2012 executive jury and grand jury awarded a total of 43 Gold world medals, 64 Silver, and 69 Bronze in this year’s competition. In addition, 83 Finalist Certificates were awarded.
