Who says you need a Delorean to time travel? Pizza Hut is looking to take its customers back in time with its “Tasty $10” promotion, offering medium hand-tossed pizzas at their 1993 price of $10.
To support the promotion, the Yum! Brands-owned QSR has launched a national TV and digital campaign, with creative by Grip Limited and media by MediaCom, targeted at adults aged 18 to 49 as well as families.
The campaign leverages Pizza Hut’s recent partnership with Sportsnet on Sportsnet Connected and the Sportsnet.ca “Greatest Fan Hub,” with additional TV spots on conventional channels, such as CTV, Global and CBC, as well as specialties, including Teletoon, YTV and Comedy.
The TV spots depict a man who feels like he’s been sent back in time when he picks up his order at Pizza Hut and it only costs $10. He’s even more surprised when he runs into himself as a child while leaving the restaurant.
While the TV ads allow Pizza Hut to reach consumers on channels where it already has an established brand presence, Kiera Yeates, account director, MediaCom, says that an added buy on Kijiji.ca and Louloumagazine.com offers the brand the opportunity to reach consumers who are searching for deals.
The campaign is in market until March 3.
