Dare Vancouver’s new co-CDs Addie Gillespie and Mia Thomsett have found a team to fill their old roles.
Two months after the pair were promoted, filling the void left by former ECDs Bryan Collins and Rob Sweetman, Dare announced they have hired the creative duo of copywriter David Giovando (pictured at right) and art director Todd Takahashi. The agency has also hired art director Natee Likitsuwankool, who will partner with copywriter Jeff Shorkey.
“We needed some serious talent,” says Thomsett. “We really needed that team we could rely on for super strong creative and that’s what we found with Todd and David.
“Natee has a reputation for being an amazing craftsman,” she adds. “We were really excited he was moving back to Vancouver from Toronto.”
Likitsuwankool previously worked for Y&R in Toronto, Giovando worked for Taxi Vancouver and Takahashi worked at Rethink Vancouver. Giovando and Takahashi previously partnered at Rethink but continued to work together on side projects, such as the National Advertising Awards, which has competitors create mock ads, while at separate agencies.
“That was really appealing to us, that they really valued their partnership,” Thomsett says.
The new hires will work across new and existing clients such as Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) and Tourism BC.
