Cheil Canada is beefing up its creative ranks, adding Nelson Quintal as its new CD and Stephen Crowhurst as design director.
Quintal was most recently CD on the Hyundia account at Toronto-based Innocean Worldwide. Previously, he held senior writer positions at Cossette, Downtown Partners DDB and Organic, and was ACD at Y&R, according to a release.
Crowhurst joins from Invivo Communications, where he was senior UI designer creating mobile applications for Novartis and Alcon. He previously held jobs as a designer at agencies including Public, BBDO, MacLaren McCann and Zulu Alpha Kilo, Cheil says.
Matt Cammaert, president of Cheil Canada, says the pair will work across the agency’s portfolio of clients, including Samsung, Hankook Tire, Ontario Association of Radiologists and Human Rights Watch.
The pair are the first hires under new ECD Mark Francolini, who has worked with both guys at previous jobs – Quintal at Downtown Partners and Crowhurst while at Zulu Alpha Kilo.
“I know first-hand what the two of them are capable of, and we are dogmatically focused on building and creating globally recognized creative,” Francolini says.
The agency has been busy making moves since December, with Francolini, the most recent hire, replacing Jason Partridge, who joined Sonic Boom Creative Media earlier this year.
The shop also recently hired Vivian Gagliano as director integrated solutions (digital/social) and Mark Ferris as director, retail experience, both of which were additions to the staff count.
